Valentine’ Day is a heart-centred holiday that celebrates random acts of kindness.

Many organization’s and animal/food shelters have specific events for this holiday, and if you do a little searching you will most likely find somewhere near you that needs your love and affection!

Giving back to your community not only makes you feel good but it also shows you how much you should be grateful for, and that there’s more to Valentine’s Day than the commercialism that goes along with it.

No matter your passion, there will be some worthy cause super-happy to be your Valentine this year.

Sweetheart Day: Sweetheart Day, held annually on Valentine’s Day, raises funds for children living with heart disease. And this February 14th, Sweetheart Day will raise money to fund vital medical research as well as support, to improve the lives of Aussie kids with childhood heart disease. Petbarn’s Pet Dating event: This Valentine’s Day, the Petbarn Foundation is playing puppy match-maker in it’s national Pet Dating event. Petbarn stores* across the country will play cupid and host pet dates on Saturday 14 February. Potential pet parents can choose to go on a mini-date with a number of cuddly animals. While adoption pets available will vary from store to store ranging from playful kittens to senior cats, puppies, dogs or even rabbits, there will be no shortage of loving animals all looking for a forever home.
